What this is

~Az:Net// is a global decentralized innovation network. This Virtual World acts as our Loci. Subscribe to 'worldserver' via ntfy.sh for updates and join logs.

How to Navigate

The door you came in through to get to this world contains our Lab and our Farm. Our Lab houses experimental, high-volatility programs and designs. User discretion is advised when running them: They *will* melt your CPU. The Farm is where we tend our Digital Garden: Stable, sensitive programs requiring subtle conditions for enactment. You will find an entire suite of ready to deploy software and tools there. Most of our tools are self-describing: Exploring the page will teach you how to use the page which holds the tool. That glowing orb made of ascii characters following you around is called a Navi. It is a tool used to measure your traversal through state-space while in VR. It is part of a larger world-monitoring 'mind' built into The Land of Az. It serves no practical function, it does nothing useful for you, and it uses a lot of CPU. If it bothers you: disable its source script via dev tools, 'navi.js'.

Bug Reporting

Check the 'Common Problems' section below before making your report. Email lainerunner(at)gmail(dot)com with your bug reports. This is a temporary process until we have a permanent solution.

Feature Requests

Common Problems

- Problem: Falling Through Floor / Stuck in Terrain - Cause: Bad Collision & Moving Too Fast - Fix: Move Slower, Reset to Spawn with Backspace This is an issue with the javascript engine, the pageloading, and the presence server conflicting. Longterm Fix requires Janus alterations. Work in-Progress. - Problem: Flickering Terrain - Cause: Genuinely, No idea - Fix: It's this or we'll fall through the floor twice as often. Turning off ground collision somehow fixes it, but if you spawn back into a preloaded room, you fall through the floor. Be happy it's not worse. - Problem: Floating Web Browser doesn't work - Cause: It uses iFrames and a WebAsset View. - Fix: Click on this welcome page, then click on your browser. Some pages just don't iFrame. Once your mouse is properly captured by the window, it should work fine. - Problem: Hand Tracking Breaking & Not binding to Avatar - Cause: Bad Avatar Handling - Fix: Janus Changes. Work in-Progrss.

Avatar Setup

Your user avatar is technically a JanusXR 'room' file in and of itself. Work in-Progress Ready Player Me is being deprecated: DO NOT USE IT.

Donations

~Az:Net// is purely non-profit, donation based, and paid out of pocket. If you would like to donate to our development, we currently only accept Bitcoin. You can donate via the 'Send a tip' button located Here or Via this Wallet address: 1CbyvTZNNLbB4D8roJc7qC37kEtfxCbUUY On Crypto Concerns: We are well aware of the debated nature of cryptocurrency and related projects. The conversations and the arugments run deep and share no clear consensus. We can justify those concerns via a few relevant constraints: - ~Az does not have a singular, state-sponsored identity. As far as most governments are concerned: We do not exist, we do not have a legal right to exist, and we do not deserve to exist. - Bitcoin is Transparent. You can track every satoshi we receive and where we spend it. Conversion to fiat is required for hardware purchases which help maintain development. Most donations will be spent on food and shelter for the Administrator. - Crypto works anywhere No matter where the Administrator is in the world and no matter where Az is hosted: We can maintain our services and collective survival. If you would prefer to donate via some other means, including fiat: A process is being developed to allow this, so please be patient. If you would like to donate hardware, we have very specific need of a select group of tools. You can find a link to our required kit on our wishlist Here. Each tool on our list serves a very specific and highly dedicated function within Az. We do not (currently) accept old or outdated hardware. Send an email to lainerunner(at)gmail(dot)com with information regarding hardware donations.
